Sanctifying service at a new apartment

Mr. & Mrs. Kim live in Hawaii and stayed in NYC for a while mostly to help their daughter move to a new apartment.  We are always thankful to them who pray earnestly for our churches, helping us and cooperating our ministry in many ways. 

We are pleased to have them attend our Sunday services while they were in NYC.

On the last Sunday during their stay, we were invited to hold a sanctifying service at the new apartment their daughter would move in.

We are so grateful that we worshiped the Lord, singing praises, praying and confessing the words of God together.

We praised the Lord, hearing that this new and neat apartment in a very nice location was the answer to their prayer !

Worship service after the Thanksgiving Day

Once the Thanksgiving Day is over,  the streets are full of  Christmas decorations.

We invited Mr. & Mrs. T. to Thanksgiving dinner at our apartment, and Mrs. T. who belongs to another Japanese church came to attend our service today as she does once a month.

She told us that  she'd like to attend with her husband our morning service which is held in our apartment in New Jersey sometime soon.

Her husband is from Central America, and our common language is English.
We make preparations in prayer to have a service with them.

A New Year service at the Sea of Galilee

On Sunday, Nov. 6, a new year service was held by the Israeli team by the Sea of Galilee !

The given scripture for the new year is James 2:17:

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

 I look forward to the coming work of the Lord by exercising our faith as an individual and as a flock !

I appreciate the grace and blessing we can receive through the Israeli team !

NY charismatic meeting blessed

We are thankful that the meeting held on Oct. 18 was blessed in the presence of the Lord. 

In the seminar on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Akimoto talked about the will of God for the gifts of the Spirit in the latter-rain revival;
in the message, he talked about the topic on God's hope from Romans 15:3, including some specific testimonies and sharing the experience of the coup at Istanbul, Turkey on the way back from the mission trip to Patmos.

Before this meeting started, some people showed up with their prayer requests, sparing their time from work.

We are so grateful for the intercessory prayer for us.

Participated live in the meeting of "Pray for the peace of Jeruslaem"

On the first Sunday of October, the Day to pray for the peace of Jerusalem, a meeting to pray for that was held at Tokyo Antioch Church.

In the first part, missionaries at Brazil, New York, Czech and Cambodia took turns to pray; 

we are grateful  to pray with one accord worldwide.

　　　　　　　　　　　　　

In the second part, the video messages were shown, sent by one of the promoters of this prayer movement, Dr. Robert Stern and Rev. Thomas Sandal of ECI(European Coalition for Israel)

Also, Pastor Paul Akimoto delivered a message from Psalm 122:6 regarding the prayer for the peace of Jerusalem, which was very inspiring.

A place for the coming charismatic service with the U.S. Team

We are thankful to have found a place for the charismatic service to be held on Tue., Oct. 18.

It is a newly built rental studios located in the center of Manhattan; 

we were able to rent the most convenient studio among them,

which is also used by Living Word Church on Sundays.

May the Lord's blessing be richly poured on those who are coming !

A Christian lady comes again, seeking healing

A lady who goes to another church came to our worship service the week before, 

seeking healing for her relatives.

She has come again to attend our service this Sunday.

In the delivered message, she was listening with joy to the healing testimony of Benjamin, the second son of Pastor Akimoto, who was healed of the brain damage.

This time she has come back with a piece of paper with the names of the three ill relatives of hers written on.

Thankfully, she has told us that one of those relatives began to move part of his body although the doctor said that he could not move at all due to paralysis.

We have praised the Lord for that and will continue to pray for them.

(There was a big traffic congestion in Manhattan, which was rare in August. Later, we found out that a Dominican Parade had been going on.)

Blessing I received at Hakuba Christian Camp

I am so grateful that I was able to join in Hakuba Camp in Nagano, Japan, representing NY Church.







I received lots of blessings through praise and worship, the delivered messages, the fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ;

I got strengthened and encouraged so much.

I really enjoyed all-you-can-eat meals, too.

I'd like to follow the Lord on the land of NY by His grace on the foundation of prayer, thanksgiving and listening and obeying Him, looking up to　heaven -

with the faith of having already received what I prayed for according to God's will.

New comer from other church

A lady from other Japanese church came to attend our service today.

She was here to seek healing for her family members who suffer severe illnesses.

Thanks to God's grace, she was listening attentively to a message of exercising faith,

and I prayed for their healing after the service.

May the blessings given to our church expanded to many.

To our happy surprise, Japanese couples who was visiting their daughter in New York  came to 

attend our morning service at our apartment in New Jersey.

We are also happy to hear their daughter Akiko san say that she'd like to attend our service in Manhattan.

We give thanks to the Lord for them and keep praying for them. 

Prasing at the World Trade Center

At the observatory of the World Trade Center (102 Fl.),

we sang praises to the Lord as a praise band, gave prophetic words 

and spoke some God's words toward toward the four points of the compass --

without being hindered. 

By the the time we got out the building, the entrance to the WTC was crowded with many tourists, 

so we realized we had been protected to do what we had to do in the Lord. 

We pray that the Lord's work will further advance in NY, its neighboring states and the entire U.S. 

and that we will faithfully obey His will. 

We truly appreciate the intercessory prayer for us. 

Pray for the opportunity to share the gospel with a non-Christian mother

One of our church members Sister A. decided to stay home from church to attend online services at home while her non-Christian mother visited her to stay over a month in NYC. 

 However, Sister A. came to church along with her children.  
She says, her mother told her you should go to church on Sunday, and she sent them off to church. 

Her mother didn't to come to church but she said that she would like to invite the pastor's wife to her house in Tokyo to hear her story.

While Sister A. and her children return Japan for a month or so this summer, the pastor's wife who is also returning Japan for a short period of time is more likely to have an opportunity to talk with Sister A's mother at her house. 

I'd appreciate it if you would pray that the Lord would open the mother's heart to believe and accept Jesus Christ. 

Start of a Bible Meeting

We have started a Bible meeting at Dr. W.'s apartment !

Dr. W. is a retired ear doctor who had seen Pastor Daniel over 30 years.
The heart surgery he had had last summer made him very weak and caused him to discontinue his practice.
He accepted Jesus Christ last December, and recently has become stronger and stronger.

With Dr's consent, we had a Bible meeting for the firs time today.  

After a time of singing praises, Pastor Daniel spoke a message from John chapter 3 about a new birth. 

Doctor has been given a desire to read the Bible himself. 

Next time, we will bring him a Bible.

A college student from Japan has been saved!

A backpacker who has been traveling around the world has come to New York.  He is a college student and is from the same town as Pastor Asano was born.

He  came to NY on Sat. , April 2 and stayed at Pastor Asano's for three nights. 

 

On Sunday morning he attended a worship service in NJ.  

A message was spoken from John 3:16 centrally on the gospel.

He was listening it seriously and looked a bit surprised to hear that Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sin and riose from the dead. 

When Pastor Asano asked him if he believed Jesus, he said yes and prayed to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior!!
Praise the Lord !

He also spontaneously attended a service at Manhattan on the afternoon. 

He introduced himself as a Christian to one of church members!

He goes to college in Shiga, Japan.

We pray that he will be connected to the church of God's will in Japan.

The NY charismatic meeting was blessed!

We had a very blessed time at the charismatic meeting, with Pastor Paul Akimoto, the U.S. team.

The meeting started earlier than usual, and the children were able to join in the meeting with their mother.　　

The video of the Israeli team was shown.

One of the ladies attended this meeting for the first time; she was an earnest Christian from other church.

She was impressed with the short film "The Boy Ludovigo and 26 Crosses,"and shedding tears.

Another lady who received the gift of tongue at the previous meeting said that she continued to pray in tongue.

In the seminar on the gifts of the Holy Spirit, Pastor Akimoto talked about the importance of the works through the gifts and the blessing of the baptism of the Holy Spirit

Followed by the seminar and worship and praise, he delivered a message from Matther 7:7; he told us about the secret of answered prayers.

We broadcast today's meeting online.

The following day, one of the attendees called and said that she had the pain in the lower back healed and had the symptom of her sensitive eyes much eased.

Also, Pastor Daniel Asano was prayed for a frozen shoulder at the meeting and the following morning he noticed he could lift the arm and turn it around, which he couldn't do before.
Praise the Lord for healing works!

Prayer Time

After the worship service, we had prayer time together.
They all have a difficulty; we prayed for each one of them.

" Whoever believes in Him (Jesus Christ) will not be disappointed!! "

May God help us intercede for them with hope and perseverance.

Special Worship Service & Special Prayer Meeting

We attended the special worship service online at 9 pm on Dec. 31 in NY time,
which was held on Jan. 1, 2016 at Tokyo Antioch Church.

On Jan. 1 we invited a Christian friend in our neighborhood to a dinner, adding a little bit of Japanese traditional new year dish.
We are grateful, after the dinner, that she also joined in a prayer meeting of our church

We appreciate this blessed time of starting the year 2016.
